Beyond the line

Who would I travel with across the would?

Lennie and George traveled the world together side by side. If I could travel the world with someone it would have to be Rakeera. Her relation, traits and things we have in common fits my qualifications.

The relationship that Rakeera and I have is very strong. I can trust her with my life and knowing nothing will never happen to me and the same for her. So you know we are really close. She loves me vice verse, were sisters! Unlike Lennnie and George. In the book Lennie thought they were close. Lennie said "You said I was related to you, George." George said "If I was related to you, Lennie….I would shoot myself." But in the end Lennie still trusted George with his life and George shoot him dead.

Rakeera is a fun person to be around. Whenever i'm around her we have a good time. Alway's expect the unexpected to happen. There's never a minute that goes by that i'm bored with her. Lennie seems like a funny I mean annoying person. I would hate if he came along to travel with me just a little while. In the story he constantly asked "Can I still tend the rabbits, George?....Tell me about the rabbits, George!....Tell me how it’s gonna be, George. Tell me ’bout the rabbits." Lennie would drive me crazy!

Rakeera and I have many things in common. We both love to go out partying. Enjoy shopping for clothes because we always want to look our best. We love to be around each other ofcourse that's what Lennie and George love. But in the beginning George wanted to be alone away from Lennie he stated "Well, we ain't got any," George exploded. "Whatever we ain't ... got, that's what you want. God a'mighty, if I was alone I could live so easy. Jus' keepme shovin' all over the country all the time." Lennie got feed up and stated "If you don' want me I can go off in the hills an' find a cave. I can go away any time." George said "No-look! I was jus' foolin',Lennie. 'Cause I want you to stay with me."

If I had to choose a person to travel wtih that person would be my wonderful sister. It wouldn't feel right I would feel imcomplete if she didn't because we go everywhere togeteher. Rakeera met all of my qualifications from being trustful, caring to be outgoing and fun. There is no other person i would want to travel with. If you were me do you think I choose the right person?

Between the Line

Why do Lennie constantly kill every animal he touches?

I believe every animal Lennie touches were helpless. Defenseless compared to the strong person Lennie is! Do you know the phrase many people say retarded strength, well that's what I think Lennie has. He failed to know his strength and that's how he kills all them animals. They can't fight back so they just have to stay there and suffer. That's the reason why I think Lennie constantly kill every animal he touches.

Do you think Lennie is violent?

During the story Lennie was involved in multiple altercations. Curly provoked the fight but then Lennie broke every bone in Curly's hand with his very own hand. On the other hand Lennie kill Curly's wife by breaking her neck. Last but not least every animal Lennie set his eyes on he killed, for example the puppy and the bird. Even though Lennie didn't start every fight but yes I think Lennie is violent, don't you?

What do the puppy symbolize?

In the book Mice of Men the puppy in there symbolize something new. A new life in other words! Lennie and George started something fresh which is good. They got new a job working on the ranch and made new friends. Everything was going fine and dandy until the the puppy died. Their lifestylle changed it did a whole three sixty! Lennie soon was killed by his own friend. Puppy symbolized good and bad things in a way in Mice of Men.

What is one theme of the story?

One of the themes in the story is that loneliness is a human's worst fear. Crooke experienced the feeling of that! All he ever did was to be left alone reading books. He got the chance to finally be accompanied by Lennie one day. He told him all about how he felt to live his life without anyone to talk to or just be wth. Us people needs some kind of connection with others to function correctly. Crooke even stated, ""A guy needs somebody to be near him. A guy goes nuts if he ain't got nobody. Don't make no difference who the guy is, long's he's with you. I tell ya, I tell ya a guy gets too lonely an' he gets sick." Loneliness is one of the main themes in the story, you think?
