NHD Project Reflected 2009

This year I participated in the National History Day project. The theme was legacy and action. I choose to do my project on Bessie Smith. When I was working on a class assignment I came across her and I became interested cause she was a singer and I was working with people that loved to sing and wanted to learn more about her so I gather all my group members and we decided to do are project on her. Bessie Smith was African American blues singer that lived through the time of sexism, racism and segregation transcended all these obstacles to pursue a successful singing career.

The difficulties we had as a group were writing the script. It got changed numerous times but it turned out good. We had so many ideas and we had to put it all in one. The difficulties I had was finding a custom.

We all decided to do a play. We all took part in researching and writing the script.
We started off bad not knowing when we were going to get the time to get together and work on the play but we got it together. And yes we made it to cities but we have a lot of work to do. Like revising the script, fixing my custom (adding pieces) and working on our propos.
